The USDA has updated its food pyramid. You can get a good idea of how to balance what you eat each day. I definatly need more fruits and veggies and less meat. More whole grains, less oils. I’m sure that’s at least 80% of Americans right there in that statement!
So, when you are in the software industry, it seems that slipping your schedule is a normal, almost given part of any product’s life cycle. You try to get things done by date X, but what happens? You end up getting 90% done by day X, but the other 90% is left to finish after that day.
Why is it that we have such a difficult time estimating the real amount of time something will take? Is it time managment on our part? Optimism? Or are we just driven improperly?
Either way, it’s depressing. But I’m actually very glad to be here at TCEQ for 6 more weeks. Very nice clients.
Before the Green Letters was D.o.T. … Day of Torture. And really–you knew why we had the name when you heard us sing.
Well, now we’re Dads on Takamines (Guitar brand). Geb is (potentially) coming down for the November 11th gig to perform 4 or 5 songs that we wrote and recorded 4 years ago. It’s a lot of fun and I really can’t wait. If it doesn’t work out, then it doesn’t–but I’m going to get my hopes up so they can be dashed good and hard.
Anyway. It was that or D.o.A (Dads of Alvarezes) — but that acronym was worse than the first name!
I guess we could always be Dads on Guitars.
