Last night we played “Everlong” in front of a crowd of bluegrass fans. It rocked. Westbrook, A Girl Unknown, Everlong and Carol and Me— WAY to promote the album, eh?

Either way, we had a lot of fun. I really like doing acoustic gigs–and it’s always fun to play while Tom goes crazy.

Andrea gets more and more comfortable in front of people every time we play. It’s just a blast.

There are those moments

When I want to hurt people

Who cannot write bugs.

Sometimes when I code

My mind wanders to mad fury

From testers demands

c. I really liked the reception. People in New Orleans know how to put on a reception. Whereas people in Dallas, Texas know how to get the heck out of dodge after everythings over and done with.

Anyway… it was great seeing everyone and playing the Trivial Pursuit DVD after the wedding was also fun. Oh, and let me tell you we ate well this weekend, my friends, we ate well–mmmm… MMMM!

We went to Andrew Robert Beck’s funeral this morning. Born July 8th, 2004, Cradled into heaven July 16th 2004. So sad. The family was amazing though, everyone so supportive–Bryan was the strongest I’ve ever seen him. I’m sure that there’s a lot of hurt and questions, but I pray that they are comforted by the people around them and by God–even though they may have lots of questions for Him.

We’ve got a wedding to go to… it seems that I associated weddings and funerals because they are big todos that mark beginnings and endings. One marks the beginning of your life without someone, and one marks the beginning of your life with someone forever.

Anyway, Andrea’s roommate in college is getting married this weekend in New Orleans so we’re driving all day to get over there on Friday, hang out all day Saturday, and kick it big time on Sunday to get back. Hope the bride and groom have a great wedding and that we don’t kill ourselves in the process.

Jury Duty yesterday. Mmmm fun stuff. Three hours in a room with such a wide variety of people. It wasn’t that bad, though. I learned a lot about the criminal system. 50 people showed up to serve. 12 were selected, and I wasn’t one of them. Did you know that “voluntary intoxication” is not a viable defence? Can you say “voluntary intoxication?” And “Beyond the shadow of a doubt” is not legal–just “beyond reasonable doubt”.

Lawyers are much more lax than you’d think from TV. They’re not NEARLY that put together or dramatic. It’s pretty interesting, actually.

Anyway, back to life. $6 in hand. The price of 3 hours of your time.

We’re having a house “cooling” party (as opposed to house warming) today to get to know the neighborhood. The idea is to bring your favorite Home-Made Ice Cream and let everyone share. Mmmm real good. It should at least be a lot of fun to sit out front and eat home made ice cream.

Mmmm… Mark love Ice Cream. And if you see this and can make it.. it’s at 7:30.
